Development projects

As a travel agency we like to show you the beautiful sides of Ethiopia but during our 10 years stay in Ethiopia we have not been blind for the needs around us, caused by poverty and poor health care. We have been involved in different small scale development projects for which we feel still concerned since we came to Holland. Hereunder you can find links to some of these projects where nearly all income is used for those who need help instead of using the gifts for paying big salaries to the helpers, office rent or expensive cars . The helpers do their work voluntary or for a small salary paid from donations and they do their work with great enthusiasm.

Some projects were started by foreigners and some by Ethiopians who feel concerned by the need of the poor people around them. During your journey in Ethiopia, it is possible to visit one or more of these development projects on your request.

In Gorgora the Dutch couple Tim&Kim started a tourism development project in 2007. With help of local people and volunteers they have made a camping/bungalow park at the shores of lake Tana. The profit of the project will be used for local development projects.

An Ethiopian mother had compassion with the many orphans in her city Arba Minch. She took 2 orphans to her house to raise them up. The number of children began to grow and it developed to a small scale orphanage project which is supported by some foreign foundations.
