• The markets in Ethiopia are fully at work at the end of the morning so it is better to plan a visit to a market early afternoon. Adapt your standard text to the specific journey. E.g. the singing wells of Borena are not in use during the raintime, so you only see the structure.
  On the place were we stopped for photo’s the owner of the house didn’t allow us and made much problems. It is good to remark this in the program (we have mentioned now in our general travel information always to ask permission first).
  The relation with driver and guide was excellent, it couldn’t have been better! We appreciaty their helpfulness, enthusiasm, honesty and willingness to adapt the program where necessary. - Nelke
• Due to bad weather conditions in the South-West (Surma area) the program had to be modified in a very flexible manner. This was managed in an excellent way by both guide and driver. The offered alternatives were also great experiences for us and well worth to be seen. Cordial thanks to Yared Tour&Travel for unforgettable three weeks in Southern Ethiopia. • We were very happy to have Woldu and Abel as our driver and guide respectively. Woldu is a very capable driver; we always felt save in the car Abel is almost the perfect guide: he knows a lot, told us many interesting things, checking and controlling everything. • Our driver was incredible, I don’t know how he manoeuvred some of those stretches. It was a very smooth ride. Both driver and guide were excellent with keeping the locals in cheek. Anytime anyone was making us uncomfortable they stepped in. Really appreciated them, and not having to ask for help, it was already there. Driver, guide and cook were all very personable, I enjoyed meeting and spending time with each and everyone of them.

Sometimes there are comments on camping materials. Yared Tour&Travel will always solve the problems immediately.

• There is leakage in the tent (this is treated with waterproof spray immediately)
• The tent is OK but there are not enough tent-pins (this is properly checked now before every journey)
• The yellow gas bottle is not working properly (the gasbottles are replaced by another type)
• The tin-opener didn’t work (is replaced by better quality)

Comments on maintenance of National Parks and monuments, quality of local guides/scouts etc. Also in this cases we try to improve the situation by discussing the problems with the proper authorities and urging them to take necessary measures.

• Many roads in South are bad (at the moment the asphalting of the main road from Arba Minch to Jinka makes good progress)
• National Parks have to be guarded better and there must be a better management of flora and fauna. Erosion and overgrazing are endangering the parks.
• It should have helped us to know beforehand that the scouts in Awash NP are scouts and not soldiers (because of the big guns they carry with them). (Yes, you must get used to the dangerous looking guards and scouts)
• When monuments are restored they should reckon with the original state of the building
• We don’t think that old and historical artefacts and places are properly treated
• Sometimes tourist attractions are difficult to reach because of bad infrastructure. E.g. the boats on lake Chamo can only be reached by a fragile landing-stage. (we shall ask the boat association to improve this)
• At Konso there where many boys who obtruded themselves on us to be our guide (in Konso Community based tourism-projects will soon function so that everything will be organized more professional)
