Itinerary for the day

Start-to-finish this day trip takes around 7 hours. Our driver/guide will pick you up from your place or hotel of choice in Addis early in the morning with a packed lunch and filtered drinking water pre-organized. The drive takes around 1 hour on the new Ambo road before turning onto a gravel road towards the forest entrance taking a further 30 minutes. We reach the park headquarter and register (your park entrance fees are included in total trip price).

There are several different options of hiking routes through the forest depending on your level of fitness and interest – open to discuss with your guide. It is also possible to drive through to certain points in the park and arrange a pick-up if you’d prefer. The most popular hike is a trek to see the waterfall which takes around 1.5 hours, or you can hike to the highest point in the park which takes 2-3 hours.

*It is also possible to organize camping trips as several camping spots are accessible along the walking trail. Bunk beds in base camp are also available.
