Useful tips

1. When visiting Orthodox churches in Ethiopia it is mandatory for women to cover your head, shoulders and body so you'll need to bring a light scarf/wrap and long-sleeved clothes. 2. In the Northern highlands and other high altitude parts of Ethiopia such as Addis Ababa it can get pretty chilly in the evenings so make sure you pack a warm fleece, thick jumpers and trousers. 3. Power outages are very common in Ethiopia especially in the countryside. A power bank, portable solar device and flashlight come in handy.
