This is Gech's story of his roots

I was born in Abaminch but grew up in an orphanage called Children Abma near Bulvula town. After my father passed away during a military operation, my older brother and I were placed in an orphanage called Children Amba by our mother. We studied there until secondary school. When we reached secondary school, the orphanage officially closed. We returned to Arbaminch to start our lives anew. However, this was extremely challenging as our mother had married another man and we now had step-siblings. This motivated me to leave my mother's house and start my life on the streets by renting a bike. Over time, I learned English on the streets and became a local guide. Once I had saved enough money, I began searching for my roots, wanting to discover where my father came from and learn about the kind of person he was. After a long and difficult struggle, I managed to find his documents and pictures, which brought me a sense of peace and closure. The process of uncovering my roots has been one of the most significant aspects of my life, which is why I have decided to assist adoptees from Ethiopia in discovering their country and their own roots.

Orphanage

We understand that for many of our travelers, visiting the orphanage where they once lived and were cared for holds great sentimental value. It is important to arranging such visits through the proper channels, and our team is here to assist you every step of the way. Our team will help you gather the necessary documents and make appointments, ensuring that your visit is smooth and hassle-free. We also take it upon ourselves to investigate and gather more information about the orphanage, including whether it is still operational or not. If the orphanage has closed down, we will make every effort to arrange a visit to the site. Our goal is to help you reconnect with your past and create meaningful experiences.
