Rondreis Addis Ababa - Day Trip Mount Zuqualla

Itinerary for the day

Our experienced driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel or location of choice in Addis and together you set-off in a private 4x4 on the 70km drive to Mount Zuqualla. We stop off at Debre Zeyit (Bishoftu) town along the way for a traditional Ethiopian coffee and quick visit.



We arrive at the foot of Mount Zuqualla which is the starting point of the hike. If it’s a Thursday, you’ll have the chance to see a vibrant local market taking place. We hike up the mountain for about 3km until we reach the monastery at the top which is around 2,989m high. In the afternoon, we drive back to Addis Ababa for dinner. We recommend you wear warm clothes and bring layers for the hike as it can get very cold at the top of Zuqualla.
